DESIGN MENTOR AT TECHSTARS & MASSCHALLENGE

Coaching early-stage startups on how to create their Design strategy, define & prioritise features needed for a Minimum Lovable Product (MLP), introduce no-to-little code tools to streamline the product build & make introductions to potential investors during fundraising.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

Facilitated Design Thinking Workshops at
DC Startup Week & Project Moonbase, engaging audiences of 50 & 25 participants, respectively.

Guided participants to use their idea to frame problem statements, identify and understand their target audience, define goals, How Might We statements and ideate using Crazy 8 exercises.

UNDERGRAD INTERACTION DESIGN MAJOR REDESIGN

Collaborated with the head of Communications department at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture to evaluate their Interaction Design Undergraduate major.

Given the task to redesign the structure of the course for the second and third year students.

The primary focus areas included determining the theories/methodologies to cover, optimizing the teaching methods and establishing the most effective sequence for the courses.

NN/G COURSE: BEING A UX LEADER

Attended and gave the exam for Being a UX leader course at NN/g. An extremely valuable course where I learnt applicable frameworks on how to evangelise UX within your company.

Hint: I’m somewhere in the middle of the picture.

Runners up in the Service Design Network awards in 2018 for the Da Vinci project. I had worked on the project via From Here On (a Business Design Agency) for British Telecommunication (BT).

LUFBRA SERVICE JAM

Mentored the winning team, Redsloths, in the Lufbra Service Jam. My role was to inspire, ignite design thinking and allow the team to follow a User Centred Design process. In the service jam all teams were revealed a theme that day. The teams had to formulate an idea and eventually design a proof of concept. To our excitement we won first prize.

MENTORSHIP

Over the last couple of years through City University or networking events, I have mentored numerous women who have wanted to break into the UX industry. My role as a mentor has been to help these women self-reflect, evaluate their goals, consider their gaps and create a plan on how they will fill those gaps. Others areas I have helped is to give them guidance on CV’s, portfolio creation and career progression.

TALK AT CITY UNIVERSITY LONDON

Gave a talk to Students at City University doing their MSc. in Human Centred Systems. The talk gave tips on how to successfully find your first UX job.

TALK AT NEST I/O

Gave a talk on the UX process of moving from an idea to an MVP at Nest I/O, a google partnered incubator in Pakistan.

BLOG:
THE FUTURE OF PRE-FLIGHT EXPERIENCE

Wrote a blog about the future of the airport experience, which still seems relevant today.

VISUAL ANALYTICS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (VAST)

Helped to analyze data, identify anomalies/trends and produce a video for the IEEE VAST Data Challenge.

Team Awarded ‘Efficient Use of Visualization’ by IEEE VAST.
